Take a picnic lunch with you and leave the Camp after breakfast to go on a wildlife drive and see the huge migration. The Wagakuria region has a lot of resident species, including prides of lion that can number up to 30 animals, but from August to October the area transforms into a wildlife haven.
The Mara River is the main feature, and it is normal to witness the herds cross it once, heading north, and then again, heading south, a few days later. Please be aware that finding a crossing in the first place can be quite challenging and occasionally depends on chance.

The best time to see wildlife up here is from August to October, when daily river crossings are practically certain. Following the rains and ensuing new grasses, the herds often cross the river back and forth with little discernible movement. On the same day, it is not unusual to observe many herds crossing in various directions.
