This seven-day Great Serengeti Migration safari package has been especially created to concentrate on and improve your chances of viewing the Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration. The Wagakuria region, which typically hosts the majority of the wildebeest migration from August to October, and the Lobo region, which is located to the north of the core Serengeti National Park, are both included in the itinerary.
You will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, where you'll be greeted by your guide. They will transfer you to your accommodation for rest and relaxation before the safari begins.
After breakfast, you’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. You’ll arrive just in time for lunch at the lodge, and then we’ll descend over 600 meters to the crater to view the wildlife, which includes herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants.
We will also visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwest corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds can usually be seen here.
After breakfast, we'll travel to the Serengeti National Park, which is in the heart of Africa's untamed interior and features boundless grasslands that stretch as far as the eye can see. The middle Serengeti National Park region in the Lobo area, which is situated just to the north of Seronera, is where we'll go next.
On its way to Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve in July or August of each year, the wildebeest migration often passes through the Lobo region. Later, in late October or early November, it returns on its way to the southern Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast, you may have a full-day game drive in the park. The area around Lobo and the Grumeti River has respectable year-round resident wildlife. Elephants, buffalos, gazelles, zebras, lions, leopards, and cheetahs are among the animals that don't travel through this region all year round.
After breakfast, we go to the Wagakuria region of the Serengeti National Park, which is located in the park's extreme north. While traveling from the Lobo region to the Wagakuria area, we will go on a game drive. Good sightings of giraffe, plains game, buffalo herds, and elephants are frequently observed as we go north. It's breathtaking to see the wildebeest herds rush across the Mara River.
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day game drive in the Wagakuria area. This part of the park has a lot of resident species, including prides of lions that may number up to 30 animals; however, from August to October, the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The Mara River is the main feature, and it is normal to witness the herds traverse it once to the north and once to the south in a single day.
Please take note: finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. A herd can be seen next to a river and only decides to cross or not cross until a couple of days later. This area is a stunning region with kopjes, woodland, riverine vegetation, and open plains, similar to Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Reserve.
We leave the camp after breakfast and have a game drive on the way to Kogatende Airstrip. Join a scheduled flight from Kogatende airstrip to Arusha airport at midday. Meet our driver at the Arusha airport, and he will take you into the city of Arusha. After arriving, we will eat lunch before calling our African safari excursion concluded. Our safari services are completed when we transport you to your accommodation.
