Trekking Mount Kilimanjaro via the Marangu route typically takes 6 days, although it's possible to complete it in 5 days if you're experienced and physically fit. Here's an overview of what you can expect during the 6-day Kilimanjaro trekking via the Marangu route:
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to the hotel for overnight. Meal Plan Bed and Breakfast.
Day 2: Arusha to Marangu gate: Transfer to Marangu gate which takes opproximately 2 hrs. After clearance procceed to Mandara hut 2700m from the sea level. It takes7 kms which takes 3-5hrs. Dinner and overnight at Mandara hut.
Day 3: Mandara - Horombo hut; After breakfast start walkking to horombo hut 3700m above sea level with picnic lunch boxes. Dinner and overnight at horombo hut. It covers a distance of 9 km whic takes 5-6 hours trekking.
Day 4: Horombo hut - Kibo hut; After breakfast we start our walk to kibo hut as from 0800 hrs which is 4700m above sea level. Dinner and overnight at Kibo hut, it takes 5-6 hours walking and cover distance of 5-9 kms.
Day 5: Kibo hut - Summit - Horombo hut; At midnight after light preparation we start our final ascend to Gilmans point 5635m above sea level then proceed to uhuru peak before we descend to kibo camp for hot lunch and then proceed to horombo hut for dinner and overnight, 10-12 hrs.
Day 6: Horombo - Marangu gate; After breakfast we descend to Marangu gate via Mandara hut. Drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight at Kundayo lodge /Airport for departure.
