This Lemosho route is one of the most scenic routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and it is recommended for those who want to have a more gradual ascent and better acclimatization. An 8-day itinerary will provide you with ample time to adjust to the altitude and increase your chances of successfully reaching the summit.
Day 1: Drive to Lemosho Gate (2,100 m/6,890 ft), then trek to Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,750 m/9,020 ft)
Day 2: Trek from Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1 (3,505 m/11,500 ft)
Day 3: Trek from Shira Camp 1 to Shira Camp 2 (3,840 m/12,600 ft)
Day 4: Trek from Shira Camp 2 to Barranco Camp (3,950 m/12,960 ft)
Day 5: Trek from Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (4,035 m/13,200 ft)
Day 6: Trek from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,600 m/15,100 ft)
Day 7: Summit Day! Trek from Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m/19,341 ft), then descend to Mweka Camp (3,100 m/10,170 ft)
