During your seven-day migration safari, you'll go to the Western Corridor of the Serengeti to see the wildebeest migration. The two main characteristics of this region are the Grumeti and Mbalageti Rivers. All the predators, as well as zebra and wildebeest, maintain a fairly healthy permanent animal population in this region. There are many different species of birds. Between May and July, the migration passes through, pausing briefly to pick up speed before crossing the crocodile-infested waters of the Grumeti River.
You will arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Arusha, where you'll be greeted by your safari guide. They will transfer you to your accommodation for rest and relaxation before the safari begins.
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park (approximately 2.5 hours drive). Enjoy a game drive in the park, known for its large herds of elephants, baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Overnight stay at a lodge or tented camp in Tarangire.
After breakfast, head towards the Serengeti National Park, specifically the Western Corridor. The Western Corridor is a key area during the wildebeest migration, providing an opportunity to witness river crossings as the herds move towards the northern Serengeti. Enjoy a game drive en route to your accommodation. Overnight stay in the Serengeti.
Spend the day exploring the Western Corridor of the Serengeti. Witness the wildebeest migration and encounter other wildlife species such as lions, cheetahs, zebras, and giraffes. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park and continue your game drives in the afternoon. Overnight stay in the Serengeti
After breakfast, you'll continue your journey to the central Serengeti. This area is renowned for its diverse wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and more. The open plains and kopjes (rock formations) provide excellent game viewing opportunities. Overnight stays will be at a lodge or camp in the central Serengeti
After breakfast, drive from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Crater, you'll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a haven for wildlife. The crater is home to a high concentration of animals, including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). Enjoy a full-day game drive in this unique ecosystem, followed by a picnic lunch at a scenic spot within the crater. In the late afternoon, you'll ascend and head to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay in Karatu.
On the final day, you'll visit Lake Manyara National Park, known for its diverse birdlife and tree-climbing lions. Enjoy a morning game drive and soak in the beauty of the lake and its surroundings. Afterward, you'll head back to Arusha, where you can either catch your onward flight or extend your stay to explore more of Tanzania.
