The Lemosho Route is known for its stunning landscapes and diverse terrain, offering breathtaking views as you ascend the mountain. It is considered one of the more scenic routes due to its longer duration, allowing climbers to traverse various ecological zones.
Day 1: After breakfast, drive to Lemosho gate (2,385 m/7,825 ft), then hike to Mti Mkubwa camp (2,820 m/9,250 ft) for about 3-4 hours.
Day 2: Hike from Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp (3,505m)
Day 3: Hike from Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,840m)
Day 4: Hike from Shira 2 Camp to Lava Tower (4,630m), then descend to Barranco Camp (3,950m)
Day 5: Hike from Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (3,995m)
Day 6: Hike from Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp (4,673m)
Day 7: Summit day! Hike from Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), then descend to Mweka Camp (3,080m)
Day 8: Descend from Mweka camp to Mweka gate (1,650 m/5,413 ft), then transfer back to the hotel in Moshi.
